Energy drinks : danger ?

Eating healthy means retaining energy and fitness. Many of us consume energy drinks as a part of our health diet. These energy drinks function as a tonic in our body and at the same time it provides required nourishment. There are quite a few advantages of energy drinks and hence numerous people take such drinks on a regular basis.

Some of the common benefits of having energy drinks are relive from fatigue, enhances alertness of mind by providing energy, provides good energy to perform strong works; etc. But, are all these good effects of energy drinks on human body proven? Is taking energy drinks regularly really safe?

There is another side of energy drinks and this side in ‘Danger’. Let’s find out some potential harm caused by these energy drinks.

The fact is that we are getting hooked to these energy drinks. We all lead a busy and hectic life and gulping down an energy drink or two supplies instant kick in the form of energy. Taking an energy drink some people also indulge into late working hours and hampers regular bed time on a continuous basis, which is definitely not good for health.

There’s a slight element of danger in energy drinks that makes them a bit intriguing as well. After all, they contain controversial ingredients – namely guarana, taurine, caffeine, Cyanocobalamin, citric acid and ginseng. Even though these are basically harmless when taken in low dosage, studies have shown that these ingredients can do major damage to people who don’t know how to spell moderation. This means too many people are consuming energy drinks in excess, for the wrong reasons.

Most of the energy drinks are made up of controversial constituents such as taurine, guarana, citric acid, Cyanocobalamin, ginseng and caffeine. All these ingredients are harmless only if they are taken in low quantity. Consumption of energy drinks without control and proper knowledge can thus damage the health gradually.

Moreover the usage of energy drinks is increasing for another reason also. Mixing some energy drinks with alcohol gives absolutely relentless high. There is no chance of sleepiness or fatigue when these energy drinks are taken and on top of that if energy drinks is mixed with alcohol, it provides impervious high. This makes way for another dangerously unhealthy practice.

Energy drinks are made up of several herbs and no one bothers about the source of those herbs that are used as the ingredient of these drinks. Most of the energy drink manufacturers do not require naming the herbs used in the product. There might be possibilities of toxins in the drink because the herbs are generally sprayed with noxious pesticides or watered with impure supply of water. So, there is a chance of toxic-content in such drinks that can harm the body.

Another constituent of energy drinks that causes serious harm in body is caffeine. Caffeine is addictive and it works as both a diuretic and a stimulant. As caffeine work as a stimulant, there might be possibilities of heart palpitations, anxiety attacks and insomnia.

Considering the dangerous possibilities of energy drinks, it is suggested not to rush on these drinks. Consult a physician and take the suggested dosage. Energy drinks are made for health boost. Make sure you use it that way only.
